Coreweld 46 LS
A gas-shielded metal-cored wire engineered for welding thin plate (>1mm) to thicker sections using argon/carbon dioxide shielding gas. It delivers very low silica residue on the weld surface and features a wider arc that efficiently bridges larger gaps compared to solid wire.
Key Features
- Produces minimal silica, slag, and spatter for cleaner welds
- High deposition rates and travel speeds, significantly boosting productivity
- Soft metal-cored arc bridges gaps easier and reduces burn-through tendency
- Low diffusible hydrogen levels (H5 compliant)
- Excellent arc stability with superior root joint and sidewall fusion
Specifications
- AWS Classification: E70C-6M H4
- Welding Current: DC+
- Diffusible Hydrogen: < 4 ml/100g
- Shielding Gas: M20, M21 (Ar/CO2 blends)
- Yield/Tensile Strength: 485 MPa / 545 MPa
- Available Diameters: 1.2 mm, 1.4 mm, 1.6 mm
Applications
- Structural steel construction and bridges
- Heavy equipment and transportation manufacturing
- Petrochemical processing and offshore rigs
- Shipbuilding, railcars, and pressure vessels
