Exaton 22.15.3.L (GMAW)

Exaton 22.15.3.L (GMAW) is an austenitic filler material designed for joining stainless steels to carbon or low‑alloy steels, suitable for plasma welding, overlay welding, hot‑wire TIG and mechanised TIG.

Key Features

  • High corrosion‑resistant chemistry with increased Cr and Mo content
  • Consistent wire quality batch‑to‑batch for reliable welds
  • Low‑moisture SAW flux packaging (20‑25 kg drums) reduces damage
  • Provides productivity gains with single‑layer overlay capability

Specifications

  • Classifications: EN ISO 14343‑A G/W/P 23 12 2 L, SFA/AWS A5.9 ER309LMo (mod), EN 10088‑1 ~1.4435
  • Approvals: CE EN 13479, UKCA EN 13479
  • Alloy Type: Austenitic (≈8 % ferrite) – 22 % Cr, 15 % Ni, 3 % Mo, low C
  • Shielding Gas: M12, M13 (EN ISO 14175)
  • Tensile (As Welded): Yield 450 MPa, Tensile 610 MPa, Elongation 31 %
  • Charpy Impact (As Welded): 95 J @ 20 °C, 20 J @ ‑196 °C
  • Typical Wire Diameter / Amps / Volts / Feed: 0.8 mm – 40‑120 A – 15‑19 V – 4‑8 mm/min; 1.6 mm – 230‑350 A – 25‑30 V – 3‑5 mm/min

Applications

  • SAW stainless‑steel welding in heavy‑duty environments
  • Plasma welding and overlay applications
