Exaton 22.8.3.L (ESW)
Exaton 22.8.3.L (ESW) is a strip electrode designed for corrosion‑resistant overlay welds on carbon, carbon‑manganese and low‑alloy steels using SAW with 10SW flux or ESW with 47S flux.
Key Features
- Provides a 2209 (SAF™ 2205) overlay deposit for high corrosion resistance.
- Consistent wire chemistry, mechanical properties and dimensional tolerances.
- Innovative chemistry with increased Cr and Mo for superior resistance.
- Moisture‑resistant steel drum packaging (20‑25 kg drums).
- ESW flux offers faster cladding with fewer layers, reducing cost.
Specifications
- Classifications: EN ISO 14343‑A : B 22 9 3 N L; SFA/AWS A5.9 : EQ2209
- Approvals: CE EN 13479; UKCA EN 13479
- Typical Wire Composition (%): C ≤0.020, Mn 1.6, Si 0.5, S ≤0.015, P ≤0.020, Ni 9, Cr 23, Mo 3.1, N 0.15, FN WRC‑92 50
Applications
- Submerged‑arc welding (SAW) of stainless steel in heavy‑duty environments.
- Electroslag welding (ESW) for overlay cladding of carbon and low‑alloy steels.
- Projects requiring high corrosion‑resistant weld deposits, such as chemical processing and marine applications.
