Exaton 25.22.2.LMn (ESW)

Exaton 25.22.2.LMn is a chromium‑nickel‑molybdenum strip electrode designed for electro‑slag welding (ESW) or submerged arc welding (SAW) to apply a corrosion‑resistant 25%Cr/22%Ni/2%Mo overlay on carbon and low‑alloy steels.

Key Features

  • Provides a high‑performance, fully austenitic alloy with excellent corrosion resistance.
  • Consistent wire quality and chemistry batch‑to‑batch.
  • Low‑moisture SAW flux packaging in 20‑25 kg drums reduces damage and handling issues.
  • Enables single‑layer overlays, reducing the need for multiple passes and lowering operating costs.

Specifications

  • Classifications: EN ISO 14343‑A : B 25 22 2 N L, SFA/AWS A5.9 : EQG
  • Alloy Type: Fully austenitic, 25%Cr - 22%Ni - 2.2%Mo - low C
  • Typical Wire Composition %: C ≤0.020, Mn 4.5, Si ≤0.2, S ≤0.015, P ≤0.015, Ni 22.0, Cr 25.0, Mo 2.1, N 0.13

Applications

  • Corrosion‑resistant weld surfacing for urea plant components such as pressure vessels, heat exchangers, and overhead condensers.
  • Buffer layer before depositing additional alloy layers.
  • Heavy‑duty SAW stainless steel welding.
