Exaton 25.22.2.LMn (GMAW)
Exaton 25.22.2.LMn is a manganese‑alloyed chromium‑nickel‑molybdenum MIG wire designed for welding stainless steel grades such as UNS S31050 (EN 1.4466). It provides excellent low‑temperature toughness for cryogenic service and is suitable for MIG/MAG, plasma, overlay, hot‑wire TIG and mechanized TIG applications.
Key Features
- High corrosion‑resistant chemistry with increased Cr and Mo content
- Consistent wire quality batch‑to‑batch for reliable welds
- Low‑moisture SAW‑type flux packaging (20‑25 kg drums) for reduced damage
- Enables single‑layer overlay welds, reducing cost and labor
Specifications
- Alloy type: Austenitic, 25 % Cr – 22 % Ni – 2.2 % Mo, low C
- Shielding gas: M12, M13 (EN ISO 14175)
- Wire diameters & parameters: 0.8 mm (40‑120 A, 15‑19 V), 1.0 mm (60‑220 A, 15‑28 V), 1.2 mm (150‑260 A, 24‑29 V), 1.6 mm (230‑350 A, 25‑30 V)
- Tensile strength (As Welded): 620 MPa; Yield strength: 405‑410 MPa; Elongation: ~33‑34 %
- Charpy impact (As Welded): 105 J at 20 °C, 85 J at –110 °C, 65 J at –196 °C
- Typical weld metal composition (AWS): 22 % Ni, 25 % Cr, 2.2 % Mo, 0.02 % C, etc.
Applications
- Cryogenic stainless‑steel welds in urea process equipment (stripper tubes, ferrules, condensers, decomposers, reactor coils)
- Corrosive environments in fertilizer plants (nitric‑acid coolers, heating coils, NPK plant piping)
- General stainless‑steel and nickel‑alloy MIG/MAG welding
