Exaton 27.31.4.LCuR

Exaton 27.31.4.LCuR is a covered stick electrode (AWS E383‑17) with a rutile coating, designed for welding high‑alloy austenitic stainless steels such as UNS S08028 (Sanicro 28) and Alloy 825 (Sanicro 41). It provides excellent corrosion resistance in aggressive acidic environments and can also be used for surfacing mild and low alloy steels.

Key Features

  • Rutile coated covered electrode for stable arc and smooth weld bead.
  • High chromium and molybdenum content for superior pitting and acid resistance.
  • Suitable for SAW (submerged arc welding) in heavy‑duty environments.
  • Low‑moisture flux packaging reduces damage and improves shelf life.

Specifications

  • Classifications: EN ISO 3581‑A : E 27 31 4 Cu L R, SFA/AWS A5.4 : E383‑17, Werkstoffnummer 1.4563

  • Deposition Data (2.5 × 300 mm): 40‑95 A, 30 V, 60 % efficiency, 1.2 kg/h
  • Deposition Data (3.2 × 350 mm): 55‑125 A, 30 V, 60 % efficiency, 1.6 kg/h
  • Deposition Data (4.0 × 350 mm): 70‑185 A, 31 V, 61 % efficiency, 2.5 kg/h

Applications

  • Welding of high‑alloy austenitic stainless steels (e.g., Sanicro 28, Sanicro 41).
  • Cladding and surfacing for corrosion protection in sulf‑acid, phosphoric‑acid, and seawater environments.
  • Heavy‑duty SAW applications where consistent weld quality and low moisture flux are required.
