Exaton 31S
Exaton 31S is a neutral welding flux for submerged arc welding (SAW/ESW) that delivers good slag removal and a fine bead appearance. It is designed for surfacing with strip and wire electrodes, especially the 310LMo type, and can also be used for joining applications.
Key Features
- Neutral flux providing easy slag removal and smooth bead
- Suitable for strip and wire electrodes (e.g., 25.22.2.LMn) in urea applications
- High corrosion‑resistant chemistry with increased Cr and Mo content
- Packaged in moisture‑resistant steel drums (20‑25 kg)
- Improves productivity by allowing single‑layer cladding where multiple layers were previously required
Specifications
- Classifications: EN ISO 14174 : S A AB 2
- Welding Current: 1200 A
- Density: 0.9 kg/L (nominal)
- Basicity Index: 1.0 (nominal)
Applications
- Submerged Arc Welding (SAW) of stainless steel in heavy‑duty environments
- Strip cladding and wire cladding of stainless steel and nickel alloys
- Urea plant equipment welding
- General joining where high corrosion resistance is required
