Exaton Ni41Cu (GTAW)
Exaton Ni41Cu welding wire is designed for overlay welding when a deposit matching UNS N08825 (nickel‑iron‑chromium‑molybdenum‑copper) chemistry is required. It offers excellent resistance to stress corrosion cracking in chloride environments and is ideal for reducing environments containing sulphuric or phosphoric acids.
Key Features
- High corrosion‑resistant chemistry with increased Cr and Mo content
- Consistent wire quality batch‑to‑batch (chemistry, mechanical properties, dimensions)
- Low‑moisture SAW flux packaging in 20‑25 kg drums
- Enables single‑layer weld overlay, reducing the need for multiple passes
Specifications
- Classifications: SFA/AWS A5.14 : ERNiFeCr‑1, EN ISO 18274 : S Ni 8065 (NiFe30Cr21Mo3)
- Alloy Type: Alloyed nickel (Ni + 22 % Fe, 27 % Cr, 3 % Mo)
- Shielding Gas: I1, I3 (EN ISO 14175)
- Tensile (As Welded, ISO): Yield 338 MPa, Tensile 550 MPa, Elongation 47 %
- Charpy Impact (As Welded, ISO, –196 °C): 190 J
- Typical Weld Metal Analysis (%): C 0.02, Mn 0.6, Si 0.3, S 0.001, P 0.016, Ni 42, Cr 22.4, Mo 2.9, Al 0.1, Cu 2.2, Ti 1, PRE 28, Fe 24
- Typical Wire Composition (%): C 0.02, Mn 0.8, Si 0.15, S 0.003, P 0.01, Ni 43.0, Cr 22.0, Mo 3.0, Cu 1.9, Ti 1.0, Fe 24.4
Applications
- Corrosion‑resistant alloy surfacing for chemical, pollution control, oil & gas, and petrochemical equipment
- Sour‑gas service components such as tanks, heat exchangers, evaporators, transport pipes, and scrubbers
- Heavy‑duty SAW stainless steel welding in aggressive environments
