Exaton Ni54 (GMAW)

Exaton Ni54 is a nickel‑chrome‑molybdenum alloy filler metal (type C‑22) designed for MIG/MAG, hot‑wire TIG and mechanical TIG welding of stainless steels and nickel alloys in harsh, corrosive environments.

Key Features

  • Excellent wet corrosion resistance in both oxidizing and reducing media.
  • Suitable for geothermal wells, HF furnace scrubbers, flue‑gas scrubbers, high‑pressure oxygen service, and weld overlays.
  • Consistent chemistry and mechanical properties batch‑to‑batch.
  • Available in 15 kg wire coils (1.2 mm diameter).

Specifications

  • Classifications: SFA/AWS A5.14 ERNiCrMo‑10, EN ISO 18274 S Ni 6022, Werkstoffnummer 2.4602.
  • Alloy composition: Ni 56 %, Cr 21.5 %, Mo 13.5 %, W 3 %, Fe 4.5 % (wire) / similar for weld metal.
  • Shielding gas: I1, I3 (EN ISO 14175).
  • Tensile properties (As Welded): Yield 500 MPa, Tensile 750 MPa, Elongation 44 %.
  • Charpy impact: 160 J at 20 °C, 110 J at –196 °C (As Welded).
  • Wire diameter: 1.2 mm.
  • Recommended welding parameters: 150‑260 A, 24‑29 V, 3‑10 mm/min wire feed.

Applications

  • Geothermal well components, HF furnace scrubbers, pesticide production equipment.
  • Flue‑gas and combustion‑resistant parts for high‑pressure oxygen service.
  • Plate heat exchangers, phosphoric acid production, cooling towers.
  • Weld overlays on valves and dissimilar joining of stainless steel to nickel alloys.
