Exaton Ni59 (GMAW)

Exaton Ni59 is a versatile nickel‑based alloy wire offering excellent wet corrosion resistance and thermal stability for demanding welding applications.

Key Features

  • Superior resistance to oxidizing and reducing media, chlorides, and localized corrosion.
  • High thermal stability reduces intermetallic precipitation during welding.
  • Approved for ISO15156/MR0175 (test level VII) in sour‑gas environments.
  • Suitable for MIG/MAG, plasma, hot‑wire TIG and mechanised TIG processes.

Specifications

  • Alloy composition: Ni 60.6 %, Cr 22.7 %, Mo 15.5 % (other elements in trace amounts).
  • Shielding gas: I1 (EN ISO 14175).
  • Tensile (as welded): Yield 470 MPa, Tensile 760 MPa, Elongation 48 %.
  • Charpy impact (as welded): 190 J at 20 °C, 155 J at –196 °C.
  • Wire diameters & parameters:
    • 1.2 mm – 150‑260 A, 24‑29 V, 3‑10 mm/min feed.
    • 1.6 mm – 230‑350 A, 25‑30 V, 3‑5 mm/min feed.

Applications

  • Aggressive corrosive environments: flue‑gas desulfurisation scrubbers, chemical process plants, offshore & petrochemical.
  • Acidic media: sulfuric, hydrochloric, phosphoric, nitric acids.
  • Dissimilar welding to nickel alloys (UNS N10276, N06022, N06625, N08825) and super‑austenitic/super‑duplex steels.
  • Overlay welding and SAW applications.
