Exaton Ni59 (GTAW)

Exaton Ni59 is a nickel‑chrome‑molybdenum alloy (type alloy 59) offering excellent wet‑corrosion resistance and thermal stability for the most demanding welding applications.

Key Features

  • Superior resistance to oxidizing, reducing and chloride‑containing media
  • High thermal stability with low susceptibility to intermetallic precipitation
  • Approved to ISO15156/MR0175 (test level VII) for sour‑gas environments
  • Available as both wire and rod for GTAW and overlay welding

  • Alloy composition: Ni 60.6 %, Cr 22.7 %, Mo 15.5 % (plus trace elements)
  • Classifications: SFA/AWS A5.14 ERNiCrMo‑13, EN ISO 18274 S Ni 6059, Werkstoffnummer 2.4605
  • Shielding gas: I1 (EN ISO 14175)
  • Tensile (as welded): Yield 540 MPa, Tensile 780 MPa, Elongation 42 %
  • Charpy impact (as welded): 170 J @ 20 °C, 130 J @ –196 °C

Applications

  • Aggressive corrosive media such as flue‑gas desulfurisation scrubbers
  • Chemical, petrochemical, marine, pharmaceutical and energy production plants
  • Contaminated mineral acid environments (sulphuric, hydrochloric, phosphoric, nitric acids)
  • Dissimilar welding to other nickel alloys and super‑austenitic/super‑duplex steels
  • Overlay welding and cladding applications
