Exaton Ni60 (ESW)
Exaton Ni60 (ESW) is a nickel‑chromium‑molybdenum strip electrode designed for electro‑slag welding (ESW) to deposit a corrosion‑resistant Ni6625/UNS N06625 overlay on carbon and low‑alloy steels.
Key Features
- Excellent resistance to stress corrosion cracking in chlorides
- Very good resistance to pitting and intergranular corrosion
- Low carbon content enables single‑layer deposits when Fe content < 10%
- Consistent wire quality batch‑to‑batch
- High‑moisture‑resistant steel drum packaging (20‑25 kg)
- Reduced consumable cost and labor due to faster ESW flux
Specifications
- Classifications: SFA/AWS A5.14 EQNiCrMo‑3; EN ISO 18274 B Ni 6625 (NiCr22Mo9Nb)
- Typical composition (%): C 0.03, Mn 0.2, Si 0.2, S 0.010, P 0.015, Ni 63, Cr 22, Mo 9, Fe 1, Nb+Ta 3.5
Applications
- Electro‑slag welding of stainless steel and nickel alloys in heavy‑duty environments
- Buffer layer before depositing additional corrosion‑resistant layers
- Single‑layer overlay welds where low Fe content is required
