OK 53.16 SPEZIAL
OK 53.16 SPEZIAL is a double‑coated stick electrode that combines the running characteristics of a rutile coating with the mechanical strength of a basic coating. It can be used on both AC and DC power sources and is suitable for small transformers with low open‑circuit voltage (OCV).
Key Features
- Double coating (rutile + basic) for stable arc and good mechanical properties
- Works on both AC and DC polarity
- Low minimum AC OCV (50 V) – ideal for small transformers
- Low diffusible hydrogen (< 10 ml/100 g)
- Meets multiple international classifications and approvals
Specifications
- Classification: SFA/AWS A5.1 E7016, EN ISO 2560‑A E 38 2B 32 H10
- Welding current: AC, DC±
- Coating type: Basic covering
- Alloy type: Carbon Manganese
- Min AC OCV: 50 V
- Diffusible hydrogen: < 10 ml/100 g
- Tensile strength (as welded): 530 MPa
- Yield strength (as welded): 450 MPa
- Elongation: 28 %
- Impact value (as welded, –20 °C): 90 J
- Deposition rates (example 4.0 × 450 mm): 1.65 kg/h at 120‑190 A, 28 V, 59 % efficiency
Applications
- General structural steel welding
- Heavy‑section welds requiring good penetration
- Low‑hydrogen requirements for high‑strength joints
- Field welding with portable transformers
