Shield-Bright 308L X-tra

Shield-Bright 308L X-tra is a gas‑shielded flux‑cored wire (FCAW) for 18% Cr – 8% Ni stainless steel, optimized for flat and horizontal position welding of grades 301, 302, 304, 304L, 308, and 308L. It is suitable for service temperatures below 500 °F (260 °C) with a low carbon content (max 0.04 %).

Key Features

  • Produces a flat weld deposit in all positions thanks to fast‑freezing slag.
  • Rutile‑based slag system provides easy slag release and near‑zero spatter.
  • Compatible with mixed or CO₂ shielding gases (M21, C1) and operates in spray transfer mode.
  • High deposition rates for both 1.2 mm and 1.6 mm diameters.
