Stoody XHC

Stoody XHC is a solid‑core stick electrode with an extruded graphitic coating for high deposition rates and excellent weldability. It offers strong abrasion resistance while remaining non‑machinable.

Key Features

  • Solid core electrode with graphitic coating containing alloying elements
  • High deposition rate across 3.2 mm, 4.0 mm and 4.8 mm diameters
  • Excellent resistance to sliding and grinding abrasion up to 1000 °F (538 °C)
  • Bonds well to carbon, low alloy, and manganese steels

Specifications

  • Welding Current: DC+
  • Alloy Type: Primary Chromium Carbides in an Austenitic Matrix
  • Typical Weld Metal Analysis (%): C 5.4, Mn 2.4, Si 1.3, Cr 24.0, Mo 0.5
  • Deposition Data:
    • 3.2 mm → 100‑150 A (Full Range)
    • 4.0 mm → 125‑250 A (Full Range)
    • 4.8 mm → 150‑300 A (Full Range)

Applications

  • Hardfacing and repair of wear‑prone surfaces
  • Maintenance of carbon and low‑alloy steel equipment
  • Extending service life of components exposed to abrasive environments
