Changes to essential variables require requalification.

  • P-Number (base metal group)
  • F-Number (filler metal group)
  • A-Number (weld metal analysis)
  • Thickness range
  • PWHT above upper transformation temperature

Performance Qualification

Welder performance qualification tests.

  • Guided bend tests or RT/UT
  • Position qualifies specific positions
  • 6G qualifies all positions for pipe
  • Continuity maintenance (6-month rule)

PQR Requirements

Procedure Qualification Records document actual test results.

  • Tensile tests
  • Guided bend tests
  • Impact tests (when required)
